Wayne Sharpe is the founder and CEO of Carbon Trade Exchange (CTX), a London-based electronic exchange platform for trading voluntary emission reduction (VER) credits, or carbon credits he launched in may 2010. Sharpe conceived the idea for CTX in early 2007 after selling the Australian arm of his original start-up exchange business Bartercard and attending the U.N. climate change summit in Bali that year.
